vivo Launches X300 Ultra & X300 FE In Malaysia, Preorders Open Until 22 May 2026

Following the launch of the X300 series last November, vivo Malaysia has followed up with the vivo X300 Ultra smartphone, being the first time an Ultra variant has been introduced outside of its home market, as well as the X300 FE “Fun Edition”, occupying the cheaper end of its flagship lineup.

The vivo X300 Ultra features a trio of lenses referred as “ZEISS Master Lenses Collection” comprising 14mm ultrawide (50MP Sony LYTIA 818, CIPA 6.0), 35mm wide (200MP Sony LYTIA 901, CIPA 6.5), and 85mm telephoto (200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP0, CIPA 7.0) shooters. The main sensor can be paired with optional ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 and Gen 2 Ultra kits that extend zoom range up to 200mm (CIPA 6.5) and 400mm (CIPA 4.5) equivalent focal lengths respectively. Additionally, there’s a fourth 5MP 12-channel spectral sensor that keeps white balance accurate across various lighting conditions.

For video production, the vivo X300 Ultra supports 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording and Dolby Vision recording across all rear cameras. Filmmakers can also input custom 3D LUTs in real-time for live monitoring, tap into the new ACES workflow support, plus a new quad-mic system with improved audio capture. vivo also teamed up with filmmaking equipment company SmallRig with the new vivo SmallRig Pro Video Rig Kit featuring an expandable camera cage, dual-hand grips, physical zoom and shutter controls, plus an integrated cooling fan for extended recording sessions.

Performance-wise, the new flagship is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset paired with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and two UFS 4.1 storage options. Tagging along is vivo’s in-house Pro Imaging Chip VS1+ processor, both of which is cooled via vapor chamber system that, surprisingly, doesn’t actually advertise gaming performance first; vivo pitched this cooling system as allowing the smartphone to maintain steady performance in long-term recording sessions, which is equally demanding on the hardware. There’s a 6600mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging support.

The vivo X300 Ultra is also equipped with a 6.82-inch QHD+ (3168 x 1440) 144Hz Q10+ LTPO AMOLED display with up to 4500 nits local peak brightness and 105% NTSC color gamut. Other features include IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance ratings, ultrasonic fingerprint scanning, and OriginOS 6 with 7-year software support. Depending on color options, the smartphone has a slight difference in chassis thickness and weight (8.19mm + 232g), with the Steppe Green adding 0.3mm and 5 grams on top Volcano Black’s figures.

Alongside the X300 Ultra is the new vivo X300 FE, where the “FE” in this case means “Fun Edition”. (The recently-launched V70 FE was referred as “Fashion Edition” instead.) In that iPhone Air-esque camera bump you’ll find three cameras instead of one, featuring a 50MP Sony IMX882 main sensor, a 50MP Sony IMX921 sensor for telephoto, and a 110-degree FOV for ultrawide sensor. It also supports the vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 kit with 200mm equivalent zoom capability.

The smartphone features a 6.31-inch 2640 x 1216 flat U8 LTPO AMOLED display with a slightly higher HDR peak brightness than the Ultra variant, at 5000 nits (3% APL). On the processing side, it runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, paired with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X memory and either 256GB or 512GB of HFS 4.1 storage. The 6500mAh battery meanwhile supports 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. It carries IP68/IP69 ingress protection ratings alongside 5 years of OS upgrades and 7 years of security patches.

Availability

The vivo X300 Ultra will come in Steppe Green and Volcano Black colors, priced at RM6,799 for the 16+512GB variant and RM7,799 for the 16GB+1TB variant; as for the vivo X300 FE, it will be available in Mist Purple, Glow White, and Luxe Black colors, with 12+256GB and 12+512GB variants priced at RM3,299 and RM3,899 respectively.
