MANILA, Philippines—Sen. Bong Go believes that the country’s return to stability is "closely tied" to the potential presidency of Vice President Sara Duterte in 2028.
"We could only return to normal lives if VP Inday Sara becomes president [in 2028]," Go said in Filipino during the RAGE Coalition founding event on April 12.
The senator raised the importance of continuity in leadership and unity within the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) where he serves as its national auditor.
Go expressed hope that the direction set in previous years would be sustained through leadership aligned with the Duterte family.
He called on party members to work together in the upcoming elections. He said that PDP numbers in the Senate would be crucial in advancing legislative priorities.
Go said that despite strong individual mandates, legislative success "ultimately depends on the number of allies within the chamber."
He urged PDP members to continue building the party’s base, noting that its growth depends on collective effort and electoral success.
Go emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of PDP chairman, former president Rodrigo Duterte, describing it as a shared responsibility among party members.
