
SHAH ALAM - Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has been described as a 'brave iron' by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Armada (Youth) chief Wan Ahmad Fayshal Wan Ahmad Kamal.
He also expressed sympathy towards the Muar MP following the latter's conviction for abetting in criminal breach of trust (CBT), misappropriation of funds and money laundering.
"He (Syed Saddiq) is someone special, he is a friend. I sincerely hope he has patience in this challenging time.
"I cannot comment extensively on the justice system, but we trust in the court and the law and the judgments consider all arguments and evidence," he told to Sinar Daily after the Bersatu General Assembly 2023 held at IDCC, here, today.
Wan Ahmad Fayshal said he also acknowledged the inherent challenges of politics, emphasising the need for caution to navigate potential pitfalls.
Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was today sentenced to seven years of imprisonment, a RM10mil fine and two strokes of the cane for all charges of abetting in criminal breach of trust (CBT), misappropriation of funds and money laundering.
On Nov 9, The High Court sentenced Syed Saddiq to seven years jail, RM10 million fine and two strokes of the cane after finding him guilty of abetting in CBT, misappropriation of funds and money laundering involving Armada's funds.
