PETALING JAYA, Sept 11 — Men’s doubles duo Wan Arif Wan Junaidi and Yap Roy King booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Hong Kong Open with a straight-games victory over fellow Malaysians Choong Hon Jian and Haikal Nazri today.
As reported by Free Malaysia Today, the world No 20 pair wrapped up the match 21-17, 21-19 in 39 minutes, in a rematch of last month’s Macau Open semi-final.
Fresh off their Macau title win in August, Arif-Yap will next face either India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty or Thai pair Peeratchai Sukphun-Pakkapon Teeraratsakul in tomorrow’s quarter-final.
