KUALA LUMPUR: Wanita Keadilan has expressed regret over the actions of UMNO-Barisan Nasional in Negeri Sembilan, alleging a clear betrayal of the stability mandate expected by the people.
In a statement today, the PKR’s women’s wing said that at a time when the country is grappling with economic challenges and rising living costs, the move reflected narrow priorities that sacrifice stability for political manoeuvring.
“This is not only a betrayal of the Unity Government, but of the people who urgently need political stability to cope with cost-of-living pressures, not narrow power games,” it said.
Wanita Keadilan also reaffirmed its firm stance in standing with Pakatan Harapan in rejecting any form of political betrayal to safeguard the interests and well-being of the people.
The wing further pledged an unwavering commitment to defending the role and function of the Malay Rulers as protectors of constitutional sovereignty.
Last Monday, all 14 UMNO-BN assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan unanimously withdrew support for Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, triggering a political crisis in the state.
The move was announced by state UMNO chief Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias at a special press conference, citing issues involving the State Constitution and adat institution, which he said must be respected and protected without political interference.
