TAWAU: A man wanted in connection with a fraud case in Durian Tunggal, Melaka, was apprehended at Batu 5, Jalan Apas, last Saturday.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the 26-year-old local male suspect was detained by police from the Patrol Car Unit (MPV), Crime Prevention and Community Security Division (BPJKK) of the Tawau IPD.
Jasmin said the suspect was detained by the unit in Batu 5, Jalan Apas area at around 2.34am the after they observed that his behaviour was suspicious.
“Upon checking, they later found that the man had a criminal record and was listed as a wanted individual in connection with a fraud case in the Durian Tunggal district, Melaka.
Jasmin said the suspect was remanded for further investigation under Section 420 of the Penal Code and will be handed over to the investigating officer of the case.
He also called on the public to continue to cooperate with the police by reporting any suspicious activity.
