Following the resignation of Dakha MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali from the Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjit), Amritpal Singh’s father Tarsem Singh and a few other members of the Waris Punjab De met Ayali at his residence on Saturday evening.
The message for holding the meeting was given by Amritpal Singh, who is currently lodged in Dibrugarh jail.
During the meeting, the delegation shared a message from Amritpal Singh, stating that Ayali’s political career had been remarkable and that he had made significant efforts to uphold Panthic ideology.
The message further noted that Ayali had earned the trust of people through his political experience and religious outlook.
Tarsem Singh said it was crucial for religious forces to unite in the present circumsatnces, adding that Punjab could progress in the true sense only through such unity.
Ayali has often expressed support for the ideology of Waris Punjab De because of its Panthic connection. He has repeatedly maintained that he would align with a political party committed to advancing the Panthic agenda.
He has also announced that he would not join mainstream parties like the AAP, Congress, BJP or SAD led by the Badal family.
The meeting is being viewed as a significant political development ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections scheduled in the coming months.
