KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 - The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rains, and strong winds in seven states until 7pm this evening.
The states involved are Kedah (Sik and Baling), Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, and Pasir Puteh), and Terengganu (Besut and Setiu).
Similar conditions are also expected to hit Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin) and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, and Kota Tinggi).
In Sarawak, the bad weather affects areas in Sibu, Mukah (Matu, Dalat, and Mukah), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau), and Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri, and Marudi).
Meanwhile, in Sabah, the areas involved are the interior (Tambunan), the West Coast, Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan), and Kudat (Kota Marudu).
