Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale dressed up as Harry Potter character Hagrid as he was unveiled as Southampton FC’s new £25 million signing.
The former Arsenal footballer appeared in a video on the club’s social media channels as the signing was announced on Friday (30 August).
Southampton captioned the post: “There’s a new wizard in town...We have completed the permanent signing of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal, on a four-year contract.”
Ramsdale's costume was a nod to his appearance at Wembley to watch Southampton win their Championship play-off final against Leeds in May.
The goalkeeper was in the stands dressed as Hagrid as he watched his former Bournemouth team-mate and friend David Brooks in action for the club.
