For these Penang-based American expats, they were willing to travel as far as Terengganu simply to sample roti canai at a viral stall there.
The owner, who often posts his stall’s delicacy on TikTok, captured the family’s joyful interaction as they giddily awaited their order.
Upon chatting with the expat, he replied in fluent Malay -in a Ganu accent, to boot-, much to the owner’s surprise.
Apparently, the family had been living in Penang for three years now, and the man managed to strike a friendship with the locals including those from Terengganu.
His kids’ adorable reactions upon arriving at the stall has viewers melting, and many even applauded their father for mastering Malay in such a short time.
