Eddie Howe described Newcastle’s loss to Bristol City as “difficult” in his final post-match interview before his exit as manager.
In a pre-season friendly on Wednesday (29 July), Newcastle were thrashed 4-1 by Championship side Bristol City.
In a post-match interview, Howe said that the game had been a “really good test for us”.
“We probably didn't do enough with it in terms of creativity and chances,” he admitted.
Newcastle are yet to officially comment on his departure, just weeks before the start of the new Premier League season, but his exit has been described as amicable.
