The Princess of Wales surprised patients at the cancer hospital where she was treated as she returned to thank staff for her care.
Kate met senior figures at the Royal Marsden and praised the “incredible” cancer care she received during a surprise visit on Friday, 11 September.
The future queen, who announced in January 2025 she was in remission, also sat down to chat with patients. She described a father living with a brain tumour as an “inspiration” after they bonded over the support they had received from their children.
The visit came after Kate completed the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours in June, raising funds for a new specialist Centre for Holistic Wellbeing and Recovery at the Royal Marsden in central London.
She told staff that the fundraiser was “my small way” of thanking them for the “incredible” care that she received.
