One of Rolex’s biggest release from Watches & Wonders 2025, the Land Dweller is Rolex’s take on the rising trend on integrated bracelet sports watches. The watch might not be available for sale to the general public, but Tom Cruise is certainly not the general public. The prolific actor sported the sophisticated timepiece in London just last month to promote the last Mission: Impossible film, The Final Reckoning.
With a fluted bezel, honeycomb dial, and flat-link jubilee bracelet, the Land Dweller is certainly an eye-catcher and a statement piece of any outfit. The calibre 7135 at the heart of the watch is also Rolex’s latest and most accurate movement to date. Cruise paired his Rolex Land Dweller with a plain white polo and jeans, a timeless look for an equally timeless watch.

Starting with what seems to be his latest piece, a stunning 40mm Day-Date with a dial carved from a rock from space. This piece was spotted on Cruise’s wrist during his press tour for ‘Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning’ in South Korea. We think it is the very same watch he wore when he met Jin of BTS on his variety series Run Jin.

The Day-Date has been a symbol of wealth, status, and a sign to the world that ‘you’ve made it’. For an actor as accomplished as Cruise, only the most extraordinary of Day-Dates would do. His choice? A Day-Date 40 that sports a dial made from Gibeon meteorite, a rare extraterrestrial material that sports unique, distinctive crystallization from its time in outer space.
Rolex only reserves this material very sparingly, with a person like Cruise being one of the only known people to own this watch in the world.

Tom Cruise has a pilot’s license and love flying planes in his spare time, so it makes a lot of sense that a Cartier Santos is in his personal watch collection. The Santos is considered one of the first pilot watches ever made. It was created in 1904, when Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont required a watch that could be easily read in the cockpit without fiddling around with a pocket watch.
Over a hundred years later, the Santos is now Cartier’s most popular sports watch model and has been seen on the wrists of Jake Gyllenhall, Pedro Pascal, and of course ‘Maverick’ himself. The Santos was spotted on his wrist in 2022 during his Top Gun: Maverick press conference in Seoul.

For a man who travels around the world so often, whether for premiers or missions, this piece is also a great fit for Cruise. This grail-worthy timepiece is known for its perpetual calendar movement, a complication that only the upper echelon of watchmakers can achieve.
Although the watch sports a larger 41mm dial, the profile of the watch is remarkably slim at just 8.10mm, and comes in 18K white gold and full yellow gold iterations. The sophisticated timepiece shined on Cruise’s wrist during the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, especially when accompanied by a tuxedo worthy of a black tie event.

A staple in Cruise’s collection is the Panerai Luminor Marina PAM00299. Known for its robust design and maritime heritage, this 44mm stainless steel watch features a black dial, date function, and the signature crown-protecting bridge. Powered by the OP III automatic movement, it offers a 42-hour power reserve and water resistance up to 300 meters.
Cruise wore this model during his appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011. No couch jumps here, but if he did lose like he did in 2005, it’s good to know his watch would’ve been more than able to withstand his madness. The PAM00299 is discontinued so you’ll have to rely on trusted second hand dealers to purchase the same model.

In Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011), Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt, sports the Tudor Heritage Chronograph Ref. M70330N. Released in 2010, it was inspired by the brand’s 1970s “Monte Carlo” models. This watch features a 42mm stainless steel case, black dial with orange accents, and a date function at 6 o’clock. It’s powered by the self-winding Calibre T401 movement, offering a 42-hour power reserve.
The Heritage Chronograph blends vintage aesthetics with modern functionality, making it a fitting choice for the action-packed film. Like the Panerai, this model is discontinued and considered ‘neo-vintage’. Look to the second-hand market to score this timepiece.

Finally, to finish off this classy list we chose none other than a good ol’ G-Shock. The DW-290 was spotted on the wrist of Cruise as he played Ethan Hunt in the first Mission: Impossible in 1996. It’s since then developed a cult following, as well as earned itself the nickname, ‘the Mission Impossible’.
With a stop-watch, alarm, timer, and an LED backlight, it’s a versatile sports watch that promises to stay accurate for years on end thanks to its quartz movement. That’s the charm of the G-Shock series in general and why it is still worn by many watch enthusiasts today. Its gadget-like array of tricks and a toughness could survive any knock and bump the world throws at you.
Despite their perceived visual clunkiness, they are tool watches in the purest form with only one mission – to get the job done and to do it well. Some G-Shocks in the MR.G line can cost up to RM33,660 due to their more advanced features like radio wave and Bluetooth. However, this humble DW-290 won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
