Watford boss Valerian Ismael admits he turned down the chance to sign Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis over the summer.
The Nigeria international is currently on-loan with Istanbul Basaksehir.
His name came on my desk, but I said no. Simple as that," Ismael told the Watford Observer.
Dennis moved to Forest a year ago from Watford, but managed just two goals last season playing mainly off the bench.
It's understood his contract with Forest runs to 2026.
