KUALA LUMPUR – The registration status of Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia (RoS) is not an issue as the party has only undergone a name change process.
Gerakan Reset founder Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said this was because his group has taken over an already registered party.
“I took over a party, we only changed the name,” he said briefly when met by reporters after attending an opposition MPs’ meeting at the Pas headquarters here on Wednesday.
Hamzah, who is also the founder of Wawasan, said the meeting discussed the coalition’s preparations for the Johor and Negeri Sembilan elections.
“As you know, there has already been a decision in Johor, so we want to determine how to ensure victory for our candidates and the same goes for Negeri Sembilan.
“All these discussions require the involvement of our colleagues, especially MPs, to go down and assist our candidates and that is what we discussed,” he said.
Earlier, Hamzah, along with 16 other MPs aligned with Gerakan Reset Malaysia, attended the nearly two-hour meeting with Pas MPs.
