Weightlifter Aniq Kasdan wins Malaysia’s first gold of 2022 Commonwealth Games

KUALA LUMPUR – Weightlifter Mohamad Aniq Kasdan gifted Malaysia its first gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England today. 

In the men’s 55kg, Aniq edged out second-placed Sanket Sargar of India by a single kilogramme.

Aniq lifted 142kg in his final attempt, which was also a new Commonwealth Games record. – The Vibes, July 30, 2022
