Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney is being watched by West Ham United.
The Sun says West Ham see Hackney as a better alternative to current Manchester City loanee Kalvin Phillips.
Along with the Hammers, Nottingham Forest are also watching the Boro youngster.
Hammers scout Mick Brown and Forest counterpart Chris Brass both watched the 21-year-old at Preston on Wednesday.
Hackney is a current England U21 international.
