West Ham have failed with an offer for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
The Hammers see the England international as a replacement for Declan Rice after his move to Arsenal.
BBC Sport says the Hammers have bid 40m for Gallagher, but Chelsea have turned it down.
Gallagher, 23, has two years left on his contract.
