Kevin Kisner has revealed what he has told Tiger Woods he must do if he is going to decide to play at The Masters next month.
The golfing world is waiting to see whether the 15-time major champion is going to make his return to competitive golf at Augusta National in April.
Woods did not shut down the idea of playing at the first major of the year while speaking to the media ahead of the Genesis Invitational last month.
However, the 50-year-old has not played in a golf tournament of any kind since the 2024 PNC Championship. So many would be forgiven for having their doubts about whether he will be in the field for The Masters.
What Kevin Kisner has told Tiger Woods ahead of The Masters
Woods has also not made a single appearance as a player in TGL this year. He has, however, still been a regular fixture at Jupiter Links matches.
And ahead of the team’s semi-final with Boston Common on Tuesday, Kevin Kisner told the Fore Play podcast that he is trying to persuade Woods to tee it up beforehand should he intend to play in The Masters.

“If we win tonight, we’ll be in the championship [match]. And I told him if you’re going to play Augusta, you’ve got to play in our final championship match. It’s just a must, because you can’t just wing it at Augusta and not give us anything. He just laughs at s— like that so you never get anything out of him. If you can’t do that [play in TGL], you can’t play Augusta, Tiger,” he said.
The problem Tiger Woods faces when he makes his return to competition
Woods faces a dilemma when it comes to playing at The Masters. Clearly, he is unlikely to add to his tally of 15 majors at this stage of his career, but he also deserves the opportunity to say a fitting goodbye to playing at the iconic venue.
Unfortunately, his body has taken so much punishment over the years that he is going to struggle to get the reps in to be at all competitive.
Having said that, if there is one player you simply cannot rule out, it is surely Woods. His 2019 victory at Augusta National was one of the most incredible any golf fan has seen.
He has won The Masters five times in his career, while he did actually make the cut back in 2024 on his most recent appearance.
So if he does manage to play this year, perhaps it should not come as a surprise if he still produces some flashes of sheer brilliance along the way.
