We say no to beauty standards, and that includes plushies too. That said, the FUGGLERS (short for ‘Fun Ugly Monsters’) are a bit of an acquired taste. But with enough staring, they do grow on you. First created by British artist Louise McGettrick back in 2010, these little creatures are having a real moment right now. And with the all-new FUGGLER flagship store just opened in Hong Kong, they’re expanding into an increasingly demanding market.

FUGGLERs are characterised by their bizarre, human-like teeth, signature ‘butt-on’ holes, and some even have mismatched eyes (as if they’re high on life and are up to no good). At the FUGGLER flagship store in Hysan Place in Causeway Bay, you’ll find a whole range of them, in all sizes, forms, and limited-edition drops.
FUGGLER flagship store must-haves
First, let’s talk about all the new FUGGLER drops available at the flagship store. There are three new blind boxes; the FUGGLER FUGG NUGGETS (shaped like tempting chicken nuggets, our personal favourite), the FUGGLER ALLEY CATS (mischief matched with fluff), and the CHUNKY FUGGS (their attempt at blending into the wild as hippos, frogs, capybaras, and more).
Other FUGGLERs to shop include the FUGGLER BIGG FUGG 2, in case you need something bigger to cuddle, and the FUGGLER Y2K DIY Kit, so you can dress them up and have some fun. The store also offers lifestyle products like the FUGGLER Exclusive Silk Scarf, the FUGGLER Phone Case Collection, and fluffy crossbody bags.
And perhaps the most comical of all, there are FUGGLER versions of popular celebrities like Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Ed Sheeran! You’ll spot these guys right by the storefront.
Exclusive opening offers and giveaways
First, if you follow @fugglerofficial.hk on Instagram, snap a photo at the store, and tag them in your story or post, you can redeem an Exclusive Hong Kong Edition FUGGLER Fridge Magnet. It’s limited to one redemption per person, while stocks last.
Secondly, there are a few different freebies depending on how much you spend. If you spend HKD 139 or more, you’ll receive either one FUGGLER Plush Keychain Blind Bag OR one FUGGLER Blind Box. If you spend HKD 499 or more, you can redeem one Medium FUGGLER Plush (random style). And lastly, for the big spenders, if you spend HKD 999 or more, you can take home one Exclusive FUGGLER Silk Scarf (random style).
