Japanese frozen cheesecake brand Cheese Wonder is set to make its Singapore debut. Happening from May 8 at Ion Orchard, the pop-up will run for eight weeks with no plans for extension or a return for the foreseeable future. Along with its signature frozen cheesecake, the pop-up will also feature two additional offerings: Wonder Sand and Cheese Wonder Red.
Founded in Hokkaido, Japan, in 2021, Cheese Wonder has built a cult following for its frozen, no-bake cheesecakes made with rich Hokkaido dairy. The brand’s weekly online drops in Japan have become a race against the clock, with batches often selling out within minutes, while its occasional pop-ups have drawn long queues.
This upcoming pop-up follows Cheese Wonder’s first Hong Kong pop-up in Causeway Bay in 2025. The 20-day event saw overwhelming demand, drawing queues of up to three hours each day.

Its cheesecakes are made from free-range milk and eggs obtained from their farm, Utopia Agriculture. A crunchy pressed almond cookie crust serves as the base. Made with Hokkaido butter, homemade milk and eggs, the base is baked using a special method “sandwich baking” to create a crispy texture. Almond flour is added to achieve a richer finish. The crunchy cookie is filled with rich cheese soufflé and fluffy cheese mousse.

Cheese Wonder

Its viral frozen no-bake, two-layer cheesecake is made from Hokkaido’s rich milk and butter. The original Cheese Wonder features a crunchy cookie crust filled with two layers: fresh cheese mousse and fresh cheese soufflé. The sweet creation is made to be enjoyed three ways: frozen, lightly softened, and fully thawed.
For a firmer, ice cream-like dessert, let the cheesecake rest briefly after taking it out of the freezer. Let it thaw for 10 to 15 minutes and the cheese mousse and cheese soufflé turns smooth and velvety. For the ultimate indulgence, let it thaw fully and the cheesecake turns rich and creamy, with the cookie providing extra texture and crunch to each bite.
S$35.90 for four pieces.
Wonder Sand

Launched in 2024, this cheese sandwich cookie features fresh butter cream and fresh cream cheese sandwiched between the same crispy cookie. Fresh cream cheese is made from a mix of mascarpone and cheddar, providing a hint of savouriness to each bite.
S$35.90 for eight pieces.
Cheese Wonder Red (Strawberry)

A seasonal creation, Cheese Wonder Red wraps a whole Hokkaido strawberry in fresh cheese soufflé and strawberry-infused fresh cheese mousse, all atop its signature crunchy cookie base. The fruit’s sweet-tart brightness complements the cheesecake’s savoury depth while also cutting through its richness.
Like the original, it can be enjoyed three ways, frozen, softened, or fully thawed, but the brand recommends savouring it half-thawed. Leave it out at room temperature for up to an hour for the strawberry to have a fruit sorbet-like bite. Don’t thaw it for too long though, as the fruit’s moisture might start to weep.
S$42.90 for four pieces.
The Cheese Wonder pop-up is available from May 8 at Ion Orchard’s indoor atrium (B4).
