- Earth will align between the sun and moon, casting a reddish-orange shadow across the lunar surface during a partial stage lasting over three hours.
- The event forms the second part of a celestial pair, taking place two weeks after a total solar eclipse swept across Greenland, Iceland, and Spain.
- This is the fourth eclipse of the year, with the next total lunar eclipse not expected until New Year's Eve 2028.
