
SABAK BERNAM: A whirlwind struck Sekinchan here, in Selangor, early Thursday morning, damaging dozens of homes and paddy fields.
The incident, which occurred around 7.30am, tore off rooftops, with some reportedly lifted as high as 50 metres before being scattered by strong winds.
Viral videos on social media captured the storm’s intensity, showing rooftops flying and residents watching helplessly as their homes were destroyed.
It was understood that the Sabak Bernam Public Works Department (JKR) had deployed teams to assess the damage and assist affected residents.
Cleanup efforts are underway, while authorities have yet to release further details on the full extent of the destruction.
