Who is the best for PM 10? It's Anwar says Kit Siang but not Shafie or Zahid Hamidi!
What does it take to be PM of Malaysia? Who has the character and possess the necessary qualities that could fulfill the rakyat's expectations?
Who has the necessary experience and the capabilities to lead us out of our current economic and political slump?
The UK so far went through three PMs in one term just like we did too. Now we are on a search again for the next PM.
Unlike the US or Indonesia where there is a direct election for a President, Malaysians do not really have a say in the selection of a PM here. It is the prerogative of the party. The choice of a PM is thrust upon the rakyat by a ruling party once their members decide to choose one amongst themselves.
In the case of UMNO these days it is a decision best left in the hands of one man, the President whom many prefer to see leave the political scene because of many scandals that surround him.
On the other hand, a retired DAP leader Lim Kit Siang reportedly has made up his mind about whom he thought ought to be PM10.
First, he quickly ruled out small contenders like Parti Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal as a candidate for Prime Minister (PM).
He told a gathering in Kota Kinabalu that GE15 is to make a choice on the 10th PM and form a Federal Government and is not about selecting a Sabah Chief Minister, thus implying that Shafie might just be suitable for the premiership of a state. (Focus Malaysia)
Obviously, Kit Siang thinks Shafie does not have what it takes to be a Prime Minister.
So he called on every voter in Sabah to vote for Anwar as 10th Malaysian PM instead.
At the same time, he discouraged voters from voting for Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Muhyiddin Yassin or PAS president Hadi Awang. They too might not have the qualities he found in Anwar.
He said Anwar is the only candidate that upholds the principle of a plural society with many races, languages, religions and culture. Thus he is an asset for Malaysia to be a great world-class nation with a plural society. (Focus Malaysia)
Although UMNO-BN coalition uses Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the “poster boy” in GE15, Kit Siang does not expect that the candidate himself is convinced that he will be the PM if UMNO and BN were to win GE15.
As for Zahid, Kit Siang claimed that the UMNO president wants to turn “Malaysia into an international outcast”.
We would like to add that netizens fondly refer to Zahid as "Jahid Comedy" a term of endearment that always brings laughter to all.
Kit Siang added, “Malaysia became an international joke when the whole world regards the monstrous 1MDB financial scandal as ‘kleptocracy at its worst under UMNO-BN rule,” claimed Kit Siang.
“Malaysia will become a bigger international joke when the mastermind of the 1MDB scandal, Najib Razak, walks out of Kajang Prison a free man without fully serving his 12-year jail sentence and paying his RM210 mil fine.” (Focus Malaysia)
Kit Siang also dismissed Muhyiddin as a possibility because the latter is responsible for toppling a democratically elected PH government in 22 months.
Lastly, he told everyone to give up on Hadi who “could say the wildest lies and falsehoods, the latest of which is that DAP is communist”. (Focus Malaysia)
He asked whether Hadi was suggesting that former PAS leaders like Fadzil Noor and Nik Aziz were so un-Islamic and communistic as to co-operate with DAP when they were alive. (Focus Malaysia)
Meanwhile, in a surprise result of a survey by Ilham Centre on an individual's preference for PM10, it shows 19% prefer Ismail Sabri followed by 13% for Muhyiddin, 11% for Najib who is in jail and isn't in the running, and lastly with a percentage equal to Najib's is Anwar Ibrahim.
We'll leave you to analyse the above results and compare that to the intuitive assessment by Lim Kit Siang an old veteran of Malaysian politics and ask yourself whose views would you consider as more credible.
From there make an educated guess as to who is better suited to be your PM10!
