The Baltimore Ravens pulled out of a blockbuster trade for Maxx Crosby after concerns emerged during the medical evaluation process.
The Las Vegas Raiders star was traded to the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the new season before the deal suddenly collapsed.
According to an NFL insider, the decision ultimately came down to health concerns discovered during the final stages of the trade process.

NFL insider explains why Ravens backed out of Maxx Crosby trade
Speaking in comments shared on YouTube, CBS Sports insider Jonathan Jones explained how the situation unfolded after Crosby arrived in Baltimore.
“This is something that you do not see at this level of a trade. The trade fell through following a medical evaluation of Maxx Crosby.
“He posted on Instagram that he was in Baltimore. So, one can take from that and assume that the Baltimore doctors were able to check on him,” Jones said.
The defensive star had traveled to the city as part of the standard process before a trade is finalized. However, once the Ravens’ medical staff completed their evaluation, the deal reportedly stalled.
That development ultimately led to Baltimore stepping away from the proposed trade.
Maxx Crosby injury concerns reportedly worried Baltimore
Jonathan Jones also explained that Crosby’s recent injury history played a role in the decision.
“We know that he dealt with a meniscus injury… All trades are contingent upon the team that is trading for the player feeling good enough about the medical evaluation.
“Clearly, the Ravens do not feel good enough about the medical evaluation,” Jones concluded.
Teams often include medical reviews as one of the final steps before completing major trades. If concerns emerge during that stage, organizations can still back out of the agreement.
In this case, the Ravens reportedly decided the risk was too great to proceed with the deal.
