Celebrity hairdresser Chris Appleton has suggested his friend and client Kim Kardashian could be cheering him on from the studio audience as he takes part in Strictly Come Dancing.
The 43-year-old was paired with professional dancer Amy Dowden on Saturday’s launch episode of the BBC One entertainment show.
He will compete against stars including singer Delta Goodrem, former Love Island winner Dani Dyer and former England footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Asked if Kardashian, whose reality TV show The Kardashians has featured Appleton, would attend a live show, he said: "Who knows? Watch this space, but I don’t know, anything could happen.
"I think being in Strictly, I’ve realised anything is possible and magic happens.
"I have no idea, I know a lot of people want to come to the show and we’re only allocated two tickets."
It comes after Kardashian posted on social media to support Appleton when his participation in the show was announced and also sent him flowers.
The Leicester-born hairdresser added: “Kim’s so sweet, I mean, she’s been such an amazing person throughout my whole career.
“She’s obviously fantastic at what she does, but obviously I know Kim personally, and she’s just always been so kind, and she sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers, which was just so kind of her to do, she didn’t have to.
“And she said, ‘break a leg’, and just commenting on my post when I did it, and that’s so nice of her to support me because she’s always been so supportive.
“But to do that, which is going above and beyond, it just says so much about who she is, she’s an amazing person.
“Like I say, she’s always been so supportive, I’m very lucky to work with her, and she’s my hair muse, she’s always been my girl.”
Appleton’s other celebrity clients include Sofía Vergara, Ariana Grande and Katy Perry.
He has previously been named a “Hair Star” by Vogue UK and his work has been showcased on covers and in major features for publications including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Grazia, L’Officiel Paris, and more.
The hair stylist also recently made the New York Times Best Sellers list for his memoir Your Roots Don’t Define You.
Appleton will return to Strictly in Saturday’s first live show on BBC One and iPlayer at 6.15pm.
