Mohamed Salah has helped Egypt reach its best-ever run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

After getting through the group stages, Mohamed Salah’s Egypt locked horns with Australia during the Round of 32 matchup.

The two sides engaged in a thrilling game, but it ended 1-1 even after extra time. As a result, the game had to be decided in penalties.

Egypt watched Kylian Mbappe’s penalty goal before the penalty shootout against Australia

Following a frustrating draw, Australia decided to shake things up before penalty shootouts by subbing in Mathew Ryan for Patrick Beach.

Keeping the change in mind, Egypt were seen getting on a laptop and for some reason, they were watching a Kylian Mbappe match with Real Madrid.

One may wonder why the Egyptians suddenly started watching an Mbappe video ahead of such an important moment. Well, it turns out it was from Madrid’s game vs. Levante.

The same game where Mbappe scored a Panenka penalty against Ryan, who was in between the sticks for Levante.

The strategy worked for Egypt, as Ryan failed to save even a single penalty and lost 4-2 after the end of the penalty shootout, advancing to the Round of 16.
