Yamaha could assemble an ideal 2027 MotoGP line-up by moving Toprak Razgatlioglu into their factory team and bringing Jack Miller back, with Izan Guevara set to join Pramac.
The rider market has been busy this season, with 19 of the 22 riders starting the year on contracts that are due to expire. Three of those are in the Yamaha stable: factory team riders Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins, plus Pramac’s Miller.
Razgatlioglu is the only one under contract beyond 2026 after signing a two-year deal when he made the switch from World Superbikes. He’s also currently the only rider expected to stay with Yamaha next year, as Quartararo is widely tipped to move to Honda in 2027.
Yamaha moved quickly to bring in Jorge Martin as Quartararo’s replacement, who is expected to leave Aprilia for a two-year deal. There are also reports that Moto2 prospect Guevara is almost certain to join Pramac in 2027 as part of their plans for the satellite team.
Why Yamaha’s 2027 line-up should feature Toprak Razgatlioglu and Jack Miller, with Izan Guevara joining Pramac

Yamaha still has an open seat in their 2027 factory lineup, and with Guevara looking likely to move up from Moto2 with Pramac, it would make sense for them to offer Miller a new deal. This move would keep Miller at Pramac while promoting Razgatlioglu to join Martin in the factory team.
Although Rins is expected to leave when his contract expires, Miller’s involvement in Yamaha’s V4 engine project could put him in line for a new deal. With Quartararo moving on and MotoGP shifting to 850cc engines, Miller’s experience is becoming even more important.
A pairing of Martin and Razgatlioglu at the factory team, along with Miller and Guevara at Pramac, could be exactly what Yamaha needs. Beyond just his technical knowledge, Miller can help Guevara adjust to MotoGP in much the same way he has supported Razgatlioglu.
Miller helped Razgatlioglu make the switch from WSBK by guiding him through the process of learning a new bike, adapting to Michelin tyres and getting used to unfamiliar tracks. That kind of support could be invaluable for Guevara as he prepares for his debut season.
Pramac boss Gino Borsoi once compared Izan Guevara to Valentino Rossi
Even though Yamaha and Pramac have a lot of faith in Guevara, the 2027 MotoGP rule changes could make the jump from Moto2 a tough one for him. Guevara joined Pramac Yamaha’s Moto2 team in 2025, and he’s now seen as a title contender for the 2026 season.
After taking his first win in the 2025 Valencia Grand Prix, the 21-year-old opened 2026 with a strong run: second place in Thailand, sixth in Brazil and third in America. Those results have him sitting second overall, just 3.5 points behind Manuel Gonzalez.
Pramac boss Gino Borsoi has been vocal about his belief in Guevara’s talent. He even compared him to Valentino Rossi back in 2022 during his title-winning Moto3 campaign.
“I think he’s quite similar to Valentino Rossi, because of the way he rides the bike, his constant desire to win, and also a little bit because of the way he lives in the paddock with the team.
“He’s always laughing, always joking around. He doesn’t work as much as he should, that is the reality, but his talent makes up for everything. He doesn’t work as much as Valentino did back in the day. When I see him, I say, ‘He looks like a copy of Valentino’.”
Borsoi also named Guevara as a contender for a factory Yamaha seat after being impressed by his performance during private testing at Valencia last year.
