Will The Legend of Kitchen Soldier return for season 2?
As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding season 2 of The Legend of Kitchen Soldier.
The 2026 K-drama tells a largely complete story. Seong-jae’s search for the truth reaches its conclusion, the corruption scandal at Ganglim Outpost is brought to light, and several of the relationships that shaped the series arrive at natural stopping points. As a result, the drama does not appear to require a second season to resolve any major unanswered questions.
What happens in the ending of The Legend of Kitchen Soldier?
In the finale of The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, Kang Seong-jae faces the biggest test of his journey during the 29th Division Military Cooking Competition.
After the mysterious quest system disappears, Seong-jae becomes convinced that he can no longer compete at the highest level. However, by relying on the lessons he learned throughout his military service and the memories of his late father, he regains his confidence and ultimately wins the competition with a heartfelt dish that leaves a lasting impression on the judges.
The finale then shifts its focus to the truth behind his father’s death. Wang Seok-joo arrives with evidence exposing a long-hidden corruption scheme linked to Ganglim Outpost. The revelations prove that Seong-jae’s father had been wrongfully accused while investigating powerful figures who wanted the outpost shut down. As the conspiracy is uncovered and those responsible are held accountable, Seong-jae finally learns the truth about his father’s sacrifice.
The series closes with justice served, his father’s reputation restored, and Seong-jae ready to move forward into the next chapter of his life.
