During the recent GE15 campaigns Anwar traveled extensively throughout the country promising everyone at almost all his ceramah that he would be willing to take a pay cut when he becomes the PM.
We are sure Anwar would honour his promise because he is an honorable man and as the Yang Amat Berhormat Perdana Menteri, he would in due time, we pray will make the appropriate announcement.
Recall the time when he only accepted RM1 as an adviser to the state of Selangor when PKR came to power! Didn't he keep his word then?
So, let's not rush him on this issue because he has other more urgent business of state to attend to.
But a more pertinent question is will Anwar make an effort to move a resolution for the long awaited recognisation of UEC as stated in an election manifesto adopted by Pakatan Harapan? Item 37 if I am not mistaken!
On 26 November, Dong Zong the Association of Directors of Chinese Schools in Malaysia urged the new government to recognise the UEC certificates issued by the Chinese independent schools and institutionalise the allocation of funds for Chinese Secondary schools in the country as soon as possible.
Sin Chew Daily, reported that at its 93rd Dong Zong approved and adopted 11 resolutions including urging the Chairman of Pakatan Harapan, Anwar Ibrahim to recognise UEC certificates and to immediately institutionalise allocation to all Chinese Secondary Schools. (Malaysia Today)

Dong Zong has fought for the recognition of UEC for decades. Now that Pakatan Harapan has won on a platform that promised the recognition of the certificate the time is appropriate indeed to demand for its realisation. Nga of DAP has issued a clear warning with intention to quit PH if this does not happen.
The Chairman of the party is Anwar who is also the Prime Minister. Dong Zong couldn't have chosen a better time to make its stand.

However, there is also a likelihood that it would be strongly opposed by UMNO, a partner in Anwar's unity government. UMNO is known to have objected to UEC for decades too.
In addition, Anwar will be hard-pressed to honour this promise partly because of the national education policy which is against the recognition of UEC.
We shall refrain from speculating on the outcome but would rather wait and see whether this demand from Dong Zong would wreck this fragile unity government under the premiership of Anwar Ibrahim who at one time, (correct me if I am wrong) was on the opposite side of that organisation, as a Minister of Education under Mahathir's leadership whose stand agaunst it is legendary.
