
SIPITANG: The Wira A team from Papar emerged as champions after defeating the Anapol team in the Sindumin Assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob Cup and Sipitang MP Datuk Matbali Musah Cup Open Sepak Takraw Championship, at SMP Pengiran Omar 2 (SMKPO 2) Hall, Kampung Pelakat, here, recently.
Wira A took home RM2,000 along with the championship trophy, while Anapol received RM1,000 as the runner-up.
Third place was shared between the DDYY Team and the Amengross family, each receiving RM500.
A total of 29 teams from Sabah, Sarawak, and Brunei participated in the tournament, organised by the Sipitang Sepak Takraw Association (PSTS).

Also in attendance were Sabah Sepak Takraw Association (Astaka) President Roslie Ibrahim, PSTS President Jefridin Matsarudin, and PSTS Secretary Mohd Fardaus bin Aman.
The two-day tournament began on Sept 7.
