MANILA, Philippines — Prosecutors presented SYMS contractor Sally Santos in Wednesday's hearing on the bail petitions of former senator Ramon Revilla Jr. and other accused.
Revilla and several other people are facing a malversation through falsification case before the Sandiganbayan Third Division in connection with an alleged ghost project in Pandi, Bulacan. All accused are detained and most of them, including the former senator, filed bail petitions.
Santos testified that she delivered P1.72 billion to Brice Hernandez, who is among the accused seeking bail.
During the hearing, Associate Justice Karl Miranda, the court division chairman, expressed concern about her credibility.
When Miranda asked her what the reason for her revelations were, she said in Filipino, "Just to tell the truth."
Revilla's camp has said that he had no hand in the project, whether it was a ghost project or not.
