A customer at a night market in KL is not a fan of the fried squid that she purchased from a stall and allegedly threw the snack back onto the tray because they were not hot enough.
Viral videos circulating online show a verbal argument between the vendors and the customer, who acknowledged that it was not right for her to do so, but also pointed out that one of the vendors verbally abused her. The vendor who recorded the scene claimed that the customer had been troubling her for two weeks.
“She bought some fried squid from me, and returned to me shortly, telling me that the snacks were not hot enough before throwing the snacks back onto the tray.”
The vendor claimed that the customer has the same modus operandi at different night markets with different vendors. She also said that she had tried to be polite with the customer before losing her patience. Another vendor from the same stall asked if the customer “was sick” and told her to take her medication, to which the customer said she was not sick.
The customer initially left the stall but turned back when the vendor screamed, “I’ll make you famous by tonight!”
The vendor then yelled and claimed that the customer came back to hit her, which she denied. The customer, who also took videos of the vendor, said that she had deleted the videos and asked the vendors to do the same, but they did not. The vendor continued to say that the customer was going to hit her, prompting the customer to break down in tears at the scene before she eventually left the stall.
The incident happened on Thursday (June 5) at one of the night markets in KL.
Netizens, on the other hand, were divided on the situation. While some agreed that the customer should not have contaminated the other snacks with the ones that she had bought, others thought that the vendors shouldn’t have yelled at the customer.
