PENAMPANG: A woman was found unconscious on a road behind a building in Donggongon here today after she was believed to have fallen from the fifth floor.
The 38-year-old local woman was found at about 12.36pm and, despite sustaining serious injuries, died while being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu, at about 1.05pm.
Penampang District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said the cause of the incident remained under investigation, with the case classified as sudden death (SDR) and a post-mortem to be conducted to determine the actual cause of death.
He said those with information on the incident could contact investigating officer Inspector Ahmad Amir Fitri Ab Rahman at 016-449 2215 to assist investigations.
Police also advised the public against speculation and urged them not to circulate photographs or videos of the incident out of respect for the victim’s family’s sensitivity and privacy.
