KOTA BHARU: A woman was shocked after discovering thick green mould inside a curry puff she purchased from a popular market here.
The incident came to light after photos of the mouldy pastry were shared in a Threads post, where they quickly gained attention and sparked concern among netizens over food safety.
The Threads user said she routinely breaks her food apart before eating and was relieved she checked the curry puff before taking a bite.
Photos showed a layer of green mould covering the filling inside the pastry.
She later revealed that she had lodged a complaint through the Public Complaints Management System (Sispaa) under the Health Ministry regarding the incident.
Many social media users expressed disgust and questioned how long the curry puff had been stored before being sold.
The woman also said she did not inspect the other two curry puffs she had purchased because she was too disgusted by the discovery.
