Woman found dead with stab wounds on village road in Ketereh

A YOUNG woman was found dead in the early hours of the morning on a road in Kampung Kubang Kiat, Ketereh, in what is believed to be a violent incident involving multiple stab wounds.

The victim, believed to be in her 20s, was discovered by members of the public at approximately 12.30am.

She was found lying on the road in a pool of blood, with visible injuries to her abdomen, back and face, believed to have been inflicted with a sharp weapon.

Initial reports indicate that passers-by had first assumed the woman was asleep on the road before realising she was unresponsive. Authorities were immediately alerted.

The body has since been transported to the Forensic Unit at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II in Kota Bahru for a post-mortem examination and efforts to identify and locate her next of kin.

Police are expected to issue an official statement later today as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue. - May 1, 2026
