Woman held for Syabu in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: A 38-year-old foreign woman was detained with 5.16 grammes of substances believed to be Syabu.

District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismai said she was detained following the Op Tapis conducted at Jalan Pantai, here, on Wednesday.

“Result of inspection on the woman who does not possess any identification document found 5.16 grammes of Syabu.

“The drugs found inside a vitamin’s box were estimated worth RM562.10,” he said, adding that the case would be investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.

Dzulbaharin added that Police would apply for remand and carry out further investigation. The operation reflected Lahad Datu Police Headquarters’ commitment in combating drug criminal activities in this district.
