A search operation linked to a narcotics case took a tragic turn in Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar when a woman died after allegedly jumping from the balcony of a fourth-floor flat.

The police later uncovered a suspected methamphetamine manufacturing and raw material storage facility at her residence during the operation.

A team from the Anti-Narcotics Squad (ANS) had reached the premises while probing an Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) case in which an accused, Frank Dashmond, was earlier arrested.

During the raid, the police arrested another suspect, Romeo, alias Sky, from a flat on the third floor of the building and recovered 30 grams of MDMA and 1.5 grams of heroin from his residence.

When the team entered a fourth-floor flat occupied by a woman, identified as Stella Pius, she allegedly jumped from the balcony. She was rushed to Burari Government Hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

During investigation, the police recovered a key from another African national, Martin Aaron, who was living in the opposite flat. They used the key to open a locked room inside Stella’s flat.

The room contained huge quantity of chemicals, beakers, pipes, weighing machines, sacks and other equipment. The premises was being used to manufacture methamphetamine and store raw materials.

The Anti-Narcotics Squad is continuing its investigation into the NDPS case.
