PAPAR: A 64-year-old woman was killed on the spot while two others were seriously injured in a collision involving two vehicles along Km 17, Jalan Papar Baru-Kota Kinabalu (Pan Borneo), here, Monday.

District Police Chief DSP Kamaruddin Ambo Sakka said in the incident around 2.40pm, a Toyota Hilux driven by a 36-year-old towards Kota Kinabalu from Papar skidded out of control during a heavy downpour before entering the opposite lane.

“The Hilux crashed into a Hyundai driven in the opposite direction by a 43-year-old woman, who was the deceased’s daughter,” he said.

Kamaruddin said both drivers suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment, while the deceased was brought to the forensic department for a post-mortem.
