A WOMAN in her 50s was killed and two others injured in a collision involving a trailer lorry and two cars at Kilometre 443.2 of the North–South Expressway (PLUS) between Sungai Buaya and Rawang this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an emergency call at 7.33am.
A team of 14 personnel from the Rawang Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene.
“The accident involved three vehicles, namely a trailer carrying a load of lime, a Honda City, and a BMW.
“The trailer driver, believed to be in his 40s, sustained serious head injuries, while the Honda City driver, in his 50s, suffered only minor injuries.
“However, the female passenger of the Honda City, aged in her 50s, was pronounced dead by the Ministry of Health,” he said in a statement.
Ahmad Mukhlis added that the BMW driver, a man in his 30s, escaped unharmed. The injured victims were handed over to the Ministry of Health for further treatment.
Meanwhile, PLUS Malaysia said in a social media post at 7.50am that the accident had blocked all southbound lanes, as well as the right and middle lanes northbound.
“The latest status as of 8.40am is that diversion works are under way.
“The right and middle lanes in both directions remain obstructed. Southbound traffic is slow for four kilometres, while northbound congestion extends for eight kilometres. Please give way to emergency response teams heading to the scene,” the company said. - February 17, 2026
