KUNAK: A woman was killed while three others were injured in a three-vehicle collision involving two Hino 3-tonne lorries and a Proton Wira on Jalan Kunak–Semporna this morning.
The incident was reported at 8.46am, and a team of five firefighters from the Kunak Fire and Rescue Station, arrived at the scene minutes later.
The female driver of the Proton Wira was trapped in her seat and had to be extricated using rescue tools. She was confirmed dead at the scene by health officers.
Three other occupants, believed to be non-Malaysians, were rescued by the public before being sent to the hospital.
The victim’s body was handed over to the police for further action, and the operation concluded at 10am.
