Woman Loses All 5 Fingers After Left Hand Gets Stuck In Grinding Machine At Melaka Factory
A female factory worker in Melaka was left severely injured after her left hand got caught inside a grinding machine and severed all of her fingers.

According to Kosmo!, the accident took place at a food processing facility in the Kelemak Industrial Area in Alor Gajah today.

What happened

Melaka Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Zone 2 Chief Tc. Zulkhairani Ramli said the department received an emergency call at 10.50am, and 10 personnel from the Alor Gajah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arriving at the premises, the firefighters found that the 25-year-old victim’s left hand was trapped in a grinding machine.

They then brought her to Alor Gajah Hospital to be anaesthetised before the grinding machine was dismantled.

“After the anaesthesia procedure was carried out, the team turned the machine in the opposite direction and the victim’s hand was successfully freed in less than five minutes,” he said.

Zulkhairani said the victim, who worked at the factory for four years, received further treatment at the hospital for her injuries.

The grinding machine was also disinfected after the rescue operation was completed.
