In a story that has struck a chord with social media users, an Indian woman swapped her corporate career for the driver’s seat of an auto-rickshaw. After spending nearly a decade working as an IT manager, she decided to leave the fast-paced tech industry in pursuit of a simpler and more flexible lifestyle.
The story gained attention after entrepreneur Dr Nezrin Midhlaj shared her encounter with the driver in a viral Instagram post. Midhlaj described the woman as confident, well-dressed and “completely at peace”.
Despite stepping away from a managerial role in the IT sector, the woman reportedly earns around Rs 60,000 a month driving her own auto-rickshaw. However, she said the decision was driven less by income and more by a desire for personal happiness, better work-life balance and freedom from the pressures of corporate deadlines, production issues and frequent meetings.
The story has resonated with many social media users, who praised her for prioritising well-being and personal fulfilment over professional status.
