RANAU: The Mount Kinabalu search and rescue team (Mosar) was called to rescue a 20-year-old female climber who sprained her leg while climbing Mount Kinabalu, here, Tuesday.

Head of BBP Ranau Station PPgB Ridwan Bin Mohd Taib said the incident happened in Kilometer 6.6 of the Mount Kinabalu climber’s trail at about 10am.

Operations Commander, PBB Felix Taimin along with three Park Rangers and a Mountain Guide went to the scene.

“When our team arrived at the scene located about 1 kilometer from the Mosar post, we found that there was a female victim who was injured with a sprained right leg following a fall.

The case was the third this month and the 34th victim of illness or injury on Mount Kinabalu so far this year.
