
RANAU: A 47 year-old-woman suffered burns on her face and hands after her home was destroyed in a fire in Kampung Langkau, Ranau, during the wee hours of Saturday.
Head of BBP Ranau Station, PPgB Ridwan Bin Mohd Taib said a child woke up to go to the toilet when a fire was seen at the top of the kitchen ceiling.
He said there were two families of 12 people in the house at that time, where all the victims managed to hurry out of the house before the fire began to spread.
However, the victim entered the house again in order to grab some important items left in the house, resulting in her suffering the burns.

“Arriving at the scene which is located 25 km from the station, we found there was a fire at a two-story semi-permanent house with 80pc burnt.
“It was reported that there was a female victim with burns on her face and hands and the Fire team gave initial treatment to the victim and then rushed her to the hospital on an EMRS machine to receive further treatment,” he said.
