Kota Kinabalu: Women’s empowerment needs to be streamlined because women are seen as the driving force for the development of human capital, including the country’s economic aspects, said the Minister of Community Development and People’s Well-being (KPMKR), Datuk James Ratib.
According to him, in line with the main policy of the KPMKR to empower women in Sabah, it has become a priority to ensure that women are always prosperous, proactive and knowledgeable.
“This is important, so that women are always relevant to the mainstream and contribute to the progress of the State and the nation. My ministry has established a caring and responsible community as the main core of service in fulfilling the responsibility of community development and the sustainable well-being of the people,” he said.
James, who is also Sugut Assemblyman, said this in his speech delivered by Assistant Minister Datuk Flovia Ng in conjunction with the Aspiration and Inspiration Seminar for Women Entrepreneurs held at the Grand Ballroom, Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa, Saturday.
