- The winner of that game will play the winner of Portugal v Croatia who play in Toronto at midnight on Friday BST (7pm Thursday ET).
- Cristiano Ronaldo will be looking to add to the two goals he scored in the group stages. While veteran Croatian Luka Modric is aiming to ensure this isn’t his last game for his country as he is likely to retire from international football after the World Cup.
- The third game of the day sees Switzerland take on Algeria in Vancouver. The game kicks off at 4am Friday BST (11pm Thursday ET).
