World Cup today: Brazil face test before England take on Mexico

  • England are preparing for their World Cup match against co-hosts Mexico, facing challenges including high altitude and an anticipated hostile reception at Estadio Azteca.
  • Before then, Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil will face their sternest test yet when meeting Norway in New Jersey on Sunday evening. The game kicks off at 9pm BST (4pm ET).
  • England will then play Mexico with kick-off scheduled for 1am Monday (8pm ET). Should they progress, England could potentially face Brazil in the quarter-finals.
  • FIFA initially considered moving the kick-off time forward by six hours due to potential stormy weather, but later reversed the decision. A risk of further match delays remains due to thunderstorms and lightning.
  • From the quarter-finals onwards, the US will host all of the remaining matches, with the final in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.
