
Kota Kinabalu: Team Sabah brought pride to the State after achieving outstanding success at the World Holistic Massage Championship (WHMC) 2025, held in Singapore on Nov 29 and 30.
Competing as part of Team Malaysia, the Sabah contingent under the Borneo Bodyworks Association (BBA) won several top-tier international awards, further strengthening Sabah’s position as a key contributor to Malaysia’s success in the global wellness and therapy arena.
Among the major achievements by Sabah representatives were three Top 1 Best Category awards. Lynd A. Robert of Active Recovery Sports Management emerged champion in the Sports Massage category, while Jennis Vun of GLOW secured Top 1 Best Category for Foot Spa and Best Wellness Experience.
Marinda Majapin of PAWI Borneo Nature Sdn Bhd won Top 1 Best Category for Bamboo Therapy.
Adding to the success, Team Sabah was also honoured with the “Ambassador of the Year” award, recognising its active role in promoting professionalism, ethical practice and Malaysian therapy standards at the international level.
Team Sabah comprised Lynd A. Robert, Jennis Vun, Marinda Majapin, Ainnahwaty Jay Binti Abu Bakar, Sam Yong and Regina Pengiran, who collectively represented the State with dedication, discipline and teamwork.
The championship also saw overall success for Team Malaysia, led by Mohd Abiddin Ahmad, who was crowned Overall Champion of the competition.
Other Malaysian participants also recorded wins in their respective categories, including Dr Hadafi Fitri Mohd Latip (Face Therapy), Sherry Norshiella Soep (Aromatherapy), Norhafiza Zainal Abidin (Swedish Massage), Faten Syahira Mohd Hanapi (Face Therapy), Dhia Fathia Zhura (Best Costume), Hanisah Othman (Best Hijamah/Cupping) and Romlah Sudirman (Best Thai Massage).
Meanwhile, on Dec 21, TVET Malaysia presented a Special Excellence Award to all Malaysian participants, including those from Sabah, during a ceremony held at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), in recognition of their international accomplishments.
