"I use it a lot, so it's worth it" is a common justification for our expenditures. This idea makes it simpler to swipe the card guilt-free, whether it's for a bag, a pair of shoes, or even everyday necessities. But just because we use something frequently does that mean we always need to spend more?
Let's use a bag as an illustration.
The majority of us carry a bag daily. It carries our necessities and travels with us when we work and run errands. Investing in one seems reasonable, of course. Indeed, it is occasionally the case. Because you won't need to replace it frequently, a high-quality bag will last longer, feel more comfortable, and ultimately save you money.
Practical expenditure and emotional spending are closely related. You do not necessarily require the most costly version of any product solely because you utilize it daily. Occasionally, we persuade ourselves that a more expensive alternative is better value when, in fact, a simpler and less expensive solution could accomplish the same goal.
Wanting lovely things is not a bad thing. In reality, a bag might be a wise investment if it truly improves your routine, makes your life easier, and lasts a long time. However, the issue arises when we start overspending mindlessly and use "I use it a lot" as an excuse rather than a justification.
Take a moment to ask yourself some sincere questions before making a purchase. Do I truly need this at this moment? Can I still use my current bag? Is the brand or trend the only reason I'm picking this, or is quality also a factor? Above all, can I afford it without worrying about it later?
The answer may occasionally be "yes," and that's acceptable. At other instances, you'll recognize that you're going to make an impulsive rather than necessary purchase.
You don't have to deprive yourself in order to be frugal. It just entails knowing the distinction between desire and worth. Not everything we use on a regular basis has to be pricey. Our ability to make informed decisions is more important.
